Tasting notes

this elegant wine displays ripe notes of dark cherry, blackcurrant, and freshly cracked peppercorn.

The nose is ripe with red currants, plums and cherry cola. Savoury hints of earthy beets and fresh sage follow with allusions to graphite and dusty gravel . Tannins are firm and give balance to the warming alcohol.

Pairing

Try this one with your favourite pot roast or even chili or a rib eye off the grill. We also think that it is pretty terrific on its own; shared with a good friend.

Vinification

Only the highest quality fruit from the Estate vines, was designated to craft the 2015 Cabernet Franc. Aged 18 months in French oak.

Winery Description

Redstone Winery is the latest venture by Moray Tawse and his incredible winemaking team. Named for its red clay soil and large stones, Redstone's 38-acre Lincoln Lakeshore property was purchased in 2009 and is home to an award-winning winery and restaurant. In 2017, they were proudly designated the Canadian Winery of the Year at the National Wine Awards of Canada. The 38-acre estate vineyard, farmed organically, is perfect for maturing late-ripening varietals including merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and syrah. There is also pinot gris on the property. Riesling, sauvignon blanc, and chardonnay from recently acquired Limestone vineyard rounds out the estate portfolio.
